AICAD Welcomes Woodbury University as New Members in 2023

The Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design is pleased to announce that Woodbury University was approved for membership by the Board of Trustees.

Founded in 1884 Woodbury University is a private, four-year, nonprofit, Minority-Serving Institution located in Burbank, California.

In 1931, Woodbury became a college of design and business administration, establishing the division of professional arts. Today, approximately 80% of the student body is enrolled in architecture, design and media programs, 15% in business programs, and the remainder in liberal arts and sciences. The business, liberal arts and science programs are closely aligned with and collaborate regularly with the creative professional programs, including such programs in sustainability management, fashion marketing, and design computation.

The Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design – is a non-profit consortium of the leading art schools in the US and Canada. It was founded in 1991 by a group of 25 presidents who felt a need for the similarly structured art schools to come together so as to mutually develop their schools and programs. Our mission is to help strengthen the member colleges individually and collectively, and to inform the public about these colleges and the value of studying art and design.
