CCAD Alumni Make iTunes, Hot 100 Chart-Topping Music Video

With a chart-topping single on iTunes, Alternative Hot 100, and Sirius XM’s Alt Nation, the foursome SomeKindaWonderful is off to strong start—fueled by a video created by CCAD alums.

New kids on the alternative rock block, the Cleveland-based group recently debuted the music video for Reverse, their single that was spontaneously recorded in just three hours following a chance meeting at a Cleveland bar.

Columbus, OH-based motion graphics studio S77, which employs numerous CCAD alumni, co-directed and provided all VFX and animation for the video. CCAD alumni at S77 have also contributed visual effects and motion graphics to videos for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Bublé, Mindless Behavior, T.I. feat. Lil Wayne and Cee Lo Green.

Called “booming” and “atmospheric” by vevo, Reverse premiered in August and was featured on the video site’s front page. Six CCAD alumni contributed to the video: Nate Reese (Media Studies Time-Based, 2005), Sean Conner (Media Studies Time-Based, 2005), Andrew Mark (Media Studies Time-Based, 2007), Chavilah Bennett (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2012), Karl Feteke (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2014) and Sarah Schmidt (Animation, 2014).
