Acceptance Rate = The percentage of students admitted out of applications received in a given year.
At PCA&D, we create influence. 97% of students in the class of 2012 who responded to a placement survey were employed or pursuing an advanced education within a year of graduation. PCA&D’s curriculum focuses on developing critical skills of adaptive thinking, disciplined making and influential communication across its BFA programs. Small college with a big reach, PCA&D is the center of a vibrant Eastern-corridor city.
Thanks to our rigorous curriculum, small class sizes, a professional faculty of artists and designers, in-class projects with real-world clients, and professional practices classes, our graduates are strong thinkers, strong makers and strong communicators. Additionally, PCA&D's required internship is a vital link between a student's curricular preparation and the real world.
Students at PCA&D may take advantage of AICAD's mobility program. Student memberships in professional organizations such as Society of Photographic Education, the Society of Illustrators, American Institute of Graphic Arts (Central PA), and the Center for Emerging Visual Artists (Philadelphia) increase opportunities for networking, portfolio reviews, and conferences.
Our Main Gallery features work by nationally-recognized artists, serves as a teaching tool for BFA students, and is a venue for public events year-round.
Lancaster City is a thriving arts destination that offers 200+ venues for visual and performing arts, shopping, ethnic and fine dining, music, bookstores and brewpubs. Students share apartments within a 5-block radius of campus and the county is home to 9 colleges and universities with over 17,000 students.
